Another Bun In the Oven

Well...as the title suggests, and as my suspicions were correct, we have another little life to expect in December. Not exactly planned, but loved just the same. My daughter is only 7 months old, so this came as quite a suprise to us! God only gives us as much as we can handle I suppose, so we are rolling with the punches. Just think of all the baby knitting I can do ! I guess this solves my not wanting to go back to work situation as well. For some reason though, this is the sickest I have ever felt with any of my pregnancies. Anyone have any natural home remedies for 24 hour a day sickness? Other than soda crackers...(they make me gag even more.)I haven't done much knitting this week because it makes me feel nautious, that better pass soon cause I don't know how long my hands will survive without picking up the needles.. Happy Tuesday everyone!

Easter Shmeaster

Usually Easter is pretty big around my house. This year it just wasn't. I was kind of dissapointed because Marc had to work every day this week, good Friday through today. So much for my big plans. If it isn't me putting on dinner usually you can be sure my mom is, or even the in-laws, but not this year, mom is in Dominican Republic, and MIL had no intention of doing anything special at all. I wasn't about to cook a big dinner for four of us, sooo..it was pretty quiet. Maybe next year I guess. I did manage to make an appearance at church on Friday though, should have waited until Sunday mass. Friday's was realllly long...the stations of the cross etc...etc.... OK the bitch session is over, as for knitting...I did manage to get a few rows in on Clapotis this weekend, and I started a summer shawl with some funky ladder yarn. Not sure what brand because it came in one of those mill end bags from WALLY's that are $4.95. There was tons of it though..Off to tame the chocolate crazed monsters now! Happy Easter Monday all!

Wow that looks bright!

This one is awful bright! Posted by Hello
Well fortunately for me the colour really isn't that bright! The camera played some tricks on me. However it does show the slow progress I've made on little clapotis here. I must admit I haven't done much knitting this week. Been feeling kinda poopy, I keep telling Marc that I better not be pregnant again! He was supposed to get fixed 2 months ago, but he keeps chickening out. We're pretty careful, but that's how I've been feeling. Nautious, sleepy ick ick ick!! I guess we'll see next week! Anyhoo...I plan on knitting tonight since my tummy problems have seem to have subsided for now. Oh yeah... The SFH( Sweater from you know where) is DONE!!! only the arms to seam! YAHOOO!!! On to bigger and better things. Happy Easter weekend everyone. Play safe.

A couple more pics of Capotis in progress! Posted by Hello

Finally some Clapotis photos! Posted by Hello
Well this isn't exactly the one I wanted to show, but it does show my pretty stitch-markers that I just had to make for this yummy project! If I can get Hello to stop being so tempermental, perhaps I could post the real photos I had intended on!

What is a Timmys!!!

Well my dear Kitt, you must not be Canadian! Either that, or I have just developped a weird name for the best coffee on this side of the planet.
TIM HORTONS!!! Please let me know if you have never had one, I will send you a can. This is one coffee experience you just can't live without! I simply can't fully open my eyes until I have a warm Timmy's in my tummy. It makes all the bad things going on in your life go away...for an hour or so at least! As for my road trip, I managed to pick up a couple of things, but not near as much as I thought I would. Most of it was fabric for a quilting project I'm working on, but I did manage to score some more Patons Classic Merino in PINK!! YAY!! I had boutght out my LYS of all of the pink shades they had. So I had to travel to get more. Unfortunately, since I did all of the driving yesterday, I didn't get any knitting done. Usually when DH drives, I sit and knit furiously cause I hate the way he drives. It keeps my mind off of the roads. I must go to feed the monsters. Happy Post St Paddy's Day everyone, Hope there are no hang-overs lingering....and if there is, go get yourself a TIMMY'S!

When do we get rid of this cold?

This morning I woke up and decided to go and get me a Timmy's. It was -15! almost froze my pinkies off! I'm about ready to get rid of winter! Even if it does mean my maternity leave is ending soon. Did I mention that before? Probably a hundred times...It just seems to be stressing me out alot. I don't want to go back to work! On a brighter note, I am going on a "stash enhancing roadtrip" with my bud Annik. We're hitting every LYS and quilt shop from here to pembroke, so about a 4 hour corridor. We've been wanting to do this for a while, but the roads haven't been the best. Sunny skies are in the forecast for tommorow, so it's a go! Yay. Wish me good yarn Karma! I am often an impulse buyer, and sometimes ugly stuff jumps into my basket, and it sits for a long time. I shouldn't say ugly, ( because no yarn is ugly) but sometimes the lighting in shops is much different than at home, and I wind up with stuff that is "just not right" soo.. I will try to use discretion tommorrow. My little bunny is summoning me for supper, so I'm off to feed the babes. Happy Wednesday!

Road Trip

I've been MIA for a couple of days cause I went to visit my mom in Ottawa. Imagine...two whole days kid and hubby free! I almost didn't know what to do with myself. So...I did the LYS tour. I picked up some funky ladder yarn in copper, black and orange, as well as some baby yarn in variegated purples yellows and pinks so that my little knitting man(Shane my 8 year old) could start a baby blanket for his new sister. I'm so proud of him for wanting to take up knitting. He actually joined the knitting club at his school with a few other boys. What brave wonderful kids! Any hoo.. it was a wonderful, and well deseerved break. The clapotis is about half done, and I can't wait to see the finished product. I'll keep everyone posted! Happy Sunday!

Cast on a clapotis!

OK well all this chat about wanting to make a clapotis lately finally got to me, and I cast on last night. Not with my Kool-aidies though, with a hot pink DK weight wool from Jagger Spun. I really like how it's knitting up right now, I'm about 3/4 of the way through "Section 2" of the increases. I can't wait to start dropping stitches!. In my 25 or so years knitting I have never dropped stitches on purpose, and the whole idea is really exciting and intriguing to me. Wish me luck! I'll post a pic when there is a substantial amount to show. Have a great Wednseday everyone!

This was an attempt at making a variegated yarn. It turned out pretty well for a first try. We used spray bottles for each color and tried not to mix them to much. This one is Cherry, Grape, and blue "Berry Blast".
This photo really doesn't do it much justice, it's actually a really lovely raspberry, with hints of blue and grape.
I feel a clapotis calling my name for this stuff!
Maybe I should finish all my other stuff first....
Blue berry blast Cherry and Grape! Posted by Hello
Joshua(my 4 yr old) and I decided to do some koolaid dying last night. This turned out pretty well I think! He had a blast, and the whole house smelled great. This skein was our Grape with a little Blue Berry blast thrown in. HMMM now what should I make with this yummy stuff? Any suggestions?

Did I say knitting was fun?

Well, as many of you may not know, I've been on maternity leave since July, (and work wants me back by July 3rd this summer) I am really dreading this. I love my kids so much, and I never knew how much fun it was to be at home with them all the time. I've grown really attached(overly some might say) to my new daughter. She is a girl of course(my first). I can't bear the thought of having to leave her to go to work. I have two boys as well(4 and 8) who I adore also. But I guess since this is the last baby I will be having I just really want to enjoy her while she's young. I was the work-a-holic of the family, and I never thought anything of it until now. I have nightmares about going back to work. Anyways, in an effort to try and jumpstart a home career that involved knitting, I designed a few items, and put them for sale. All of a sudden, orders are booming for my "Baby's Got Back Backpack" and I can't knit fast enough! I realized that deadlines suck! I asked for it I guess. My hope is that if all this works out, I can run a succesful at home business so I can stay home with my princess. So for the next little while, knitting isn't going to be fun. I'll just have to work on other things in between to keep it interesting I guess. Off to cast on another "BGBB" Ta Ta for now.

Thanks

Thankyou to Kathy who "showed me the light" when it comes to publishing my favorite blogs in my sidebar. I have finally done it! not quite done adding ALL the blogs I like to read, but it's getting there. I cannot tell you how much frustration has been lifted off my brain!
As far as knitting goes, the "SFH"( Sweater from H%## of you know what I mean) is almost done. Need to start the collar and then sew up the puppy. I'll be sure to add a pic when it's done. Gotta jet will bbl.
